A sleeveless crewneck top matched to pull-on shorts in a thin, unbrushed cotton weave. We set a hidden zipper into the side seam of the top for easy dressing. The shorts carry a wide drawstring waistband and two slash pockets that sit flat at the hip.

What went into it

The details we cut in

Crewneck top and side zip

We shaped the tank with a plain crew neckline and clean armholes that sit close without binding. A concealed zipper along the side seam opens the torso up so it pulls over smoothly without needing stretch in the cotton.

Drawstring waistband and pockets

The matching shorts sit on an encased elastic waist threaded with an adjustable cord. Two deep slash pockets are sewn directly into the side seams to carry small items without pulling the outer line out of square.

Woven checkered cotton

We chose a thin, non-stretch cotton cloth printed with a balanced brown-and-white grid check. The weave stays light against the body in warm air and holds its crisp square shape after repeated wear around the house.

Washing and care

Machine wash cold with like colors inside a mesh laundry bag to protect the fine side zipper. Do not use bleach. Line dry away from direct heat to preserve the grain and color of the weave.
