We cut this high-rise mini skirt from smooth black polyurethane faux leather with light stretch. A short side slit opens the straight hem, and a hidden zip closes the waistband neatly. Underneath the shell, we stitched in lightweight shorts so the mini length sits securely.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Faux leather shell
We use a lightweight black PU fabric with a smooth grain and mild give. The material resists creasing and holds its clean line through the hip and straight down to the hem.
Waistband and side zip
The waistband sits high and flat against the waist. We inserted a smooth tonal zipper along the closure seam to make pulling it on and off quick without breaking the clean profile.
Side slit and hem
A neat side vent cuts upward from the straight lower hem. The opening gives the close-fitting mini cut more room to flex and step easily without pulling against the outer seams.
Inner shorts and care
Underneath the faux leather, soft inner shorts provide full built-in coverage. For care, we recommend hand washing in cool water and hanging flat to dry to keep the black coating smooth.
