We cut this pencil mini skirt from soft faux leather in rich brown, shaping it with a high waistband and clean vertical seams. A side slit breaks the short hem, while sewn-in undershorts stay hidden beneath the shell. A zipper runs into the waist for easy closure.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Faux leather shell
We use a lightweight polyurethane leather with a smooth grain and slight give. The brown finish resists creasing and holds its color through regular wear without stiffening.
High waist zipper
The waistband sits high on the torso and fastens with a clean zipper along the seam. It keeps the line smooth through the hip without bunching.
Slit mini hem
A notched slit sits at the front side of the short hem to ease movement across the thigh. The clean edges are turned and stitched flat.
Built in shorts
We lined the skirt with lightweight, breathable inner shorts attached at the waist. Hand wash the piece in cold water and hang it to dry.
