We cut this sleeveless top from a lightweight plain-weave cotton in blue and white gingham. A folded point collar leads into a clean front button placket flanked by fine vertical pleats. The straight cut falls clear of the hip so you can leave it out over trousers or tuck it into a waistband.

The details we cut in

Front pleating and collar

Vertical pleats run down both sides of the center placket to give the chest subtle structure without pulling. The point collar is tailored to sit crisp and flat without extra bulk around the neck.

Woven gingham cotton

We use a lightweight, breathable cotton cloth woven in a small-scale blue and white box check. The yarn has a soft hand and enough natural body to hold the line of the pleats through the day.

Sleeveless armhole cut

The armholes are banded and curved close to the body so they sit smooth against the shoulder without gaping. It layers easily under a light knit or a summer jacket when the weather turns cooler.

Care and maintenance

Machine wash on a gentle cycle in cold water and hang to dry to preserve the crisp weave of the cotton. A warm iron across the front pleats restores the sharp lines after washing.
