We cut this mini skirt with dense black sequins stitched across a fine mesh ground. The waistband is elasticated to sit flat, and we lined the interior with integrated knit shorts so the sequins never catch against the leg. The pencil hem falls above the knee.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Layered sequin mesh
The outer shell is built from rows of black sequins stitched directly over a mesh base. The sequins overlap in tiers so the fabric catches overhead light with every step without bunching or twisting.
Built in shorts
Inside, we stitched a pair of soft stretch shorts right into the waist seam. The lining creates a smooth barrier between the sequin backing and your legs while keeping the skirt firmly anchored as you walk.
Elastic waistband
A wide elastic band sits flush at the natural waist. It pulls straight on without zippers or metal fasteners, distributing tension evenly around the middle so the pencil cut hugs the hips cleanly.
Care and wash
Turn the skirt inside out before washing to keep the sequin edges from catching. Hand wash cold with mild detergent, avoid bleach, and lay flat to dry so the mesh backing keeps its shape.
