We knit this shrug in a white openwork stitch that lets air pass through the yarn. The open front falls straight without fasteners, and the three-quarter sleeves end mid-forearm. It layers over tank tops or sleeveless cuts without adding bulk.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Openwork knit pattern
We use a lightweight crochet stitch with regular openings across the body and sleeves. The white yarn holds its shape without feeling stiff, keeping the knit soft against bare arms.
Open front cut
The front panels are cut to hang loose without buttons, hooks, or ties. The band along the front edge is knitted flat so the opening stays straight when worn.
Three-quarter sleeves
The sleeves are set to finish below the elbow. The cuffs are bound in a ribbed stitch that keeps them in place when pulled slightly higher on the arm.
Yarn care
Machine wash cold inside a mesh laundry bag on a gentle cycle, or wash by hand. Lay the piece flat or hang it on a padded line to dry without stretching the openwork.
