We cut this cropped shrug from a light, fine-gauge knit in soft apricot. The open front falls cleanly without fastenings, and the cropped hem sits high above the waist. Short sleeves give light shoulder coverage over sleeveless tops or strapped dresses without adding bulk underneath.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Open front cut
The front panels hang open with finished edges that sit flat against the chest. We left off buttons and ties so the cardigan drapes loosely over sun dresses and tank tops.
Short set-in sleeves
The short sleeves are cut to finish above the elbow with fine ribbed bands. They provide shoulder coverage while keeping your arms free in warm air.
Fine-gauge knit fabric
We used a soft, lightweight knit that folds down flat enough to pack into a tote. The yarn holds a light drape across the shoulders without heavy bulk.
Garment care
Machine wash this knit on a gentle cycle inside a mesh laundry bag to protect the fine stitch. Lay it flat to dry and do not use bleach.
