We cut this long dress from a soft cotton-spandex knit that stretches easily and hangs straight to the floor. The open polo neckline sits flat without buttons, balanced by neat short sleeves and side pockets sewn into the seams. It runs in a blue plaid print that stays clear through the wash.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Polo V-neck collar
The collar is turned and stitched flat into a notch V-neck. It keeps its shape without buttons or stiff interfacing, resting wide along the collarbone.
Cotton stretch knit
We chose a cotton-dominant jersey blended with spandex for flexible give. The fabric has enough weight to drop straight without clinging, yet stays light in warm weather.
Side seam pockets
Two pockets sit inside the side seams at hip level. We stitched them flat so the skirt line falls clean when your hands are out of them.
Wash and care
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with similar blues. Line dry in the shade to preserve the knit elasticity and keep the plaid crisp.
