We cut this piece with the line of a fitted mini skirt and the practical interior of a short. The high rise sits flat across the waist, anchored by an integrated inner layer that stays put when you walk or sit. It is a solid black knit that holds close to the frame without pinching.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Built-in undershorts
Under the outer skirt panel, we added an integrated knit short cut from the same stretch fabric. The inner layer stays close to the leg to keep the outer hem sitting level as you move.
High rise waistband
The wide waistband sits high on the natural waist. We kept the front clean and free of hardware so it lies flat under tucked tees or cropped knit tops.
Stretch jersey fabric
Woven with give, the lightweight black fabric recovers its shape after sitting. It is soft to the touch and breathes easily during warm afternoons.
Garment care
Machine wash cold with like colours on a gentle cycle. Lay flat to dry or hang in the shade to preserve the elasticity of the waist and inner shorts.
