We cut this unlined gray raincoat from a lightweight coated polyester that sheds mist and wind. The front fastens with a sealed zipper, and the elastic waistband keeps the shape close to the torso. It packs down into its own small pouch for carrying on trail days.

Hood and neckline
The deep hood is cut with an adjustable drawstring that tightens around the face in steady drizzle. A high collar stands up to cover the neck when the front zip is pulled all the way to the top.
Waist and hem
An elastic band gathers the waist to keep wind from catching the lower body. The straight hem falls past the hips for extra coverage, leaving plenty of room to move along the trail.
Pockets and storage
Two front patch pockets offer deep room for keys, a phone, or cold hands. The jacket folds down small enough to pack directly into its included gray drawstring storage pouch.
Fabric and care
This thin, unlined woven shell carries a water-resistant coating. To preserve that finish, wipe the shell clean with a damp cloth or rinse it in cold water instead of running it through a washing machine.
