We cut this mid-rise skort in a lightweight stretch knit printed with classic black polka dots. The short outer shell features a small side slit at the hem for ease of movement. Inside, we built in matching stretch shorts that sit flat underneath the skirt layer.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Built-in under shorts
We cut an integrated pair of fitted stretch shorts directly beneath the outer panel. The interior seam lines stay smooth against the leg so the outer skirt hangs clean without catching.
Mid-rise stretch waistband
The waistband sits at the natural mid-rise without extra bulk or hardware. We used a flexible elastic core that holds the waist securely while you move and sit.
Side slit hem
A short slit opens the outer hem on one side to allow a full stride. The hemline is finished with a flat turn-back stitch to keep the edge crisp and lightweight.
Polka dot knit care
The printed stretch jersey washes well on a gentle cold cycle with like colours. Hang the piece flat or line dry out of direct sunlight to maintain the black print and elasticity.
