We cut this oversized pullover from a thick fleece-backed jersey for cooler days. The neckline, cuffs, and bottom hem are finished with wide ribbing to hold the shape. Across the chest, we stitched bold USA lettering directly into the cloth.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Crew neckline and embroidery
The round neckline is bound with thick ribbed knit that sits close to the collarbone. Across the chest, we set the USA lettering in dense direct embroidery that will not crack or peel after repeated laundering.
Fleece jersey fabric
We selected a midweight cotton-poly blend with a smooth face and a brushed fleece interior. The lofted backing traps warmth without adding unnecessary bulk under an outer jacket.
Ribbed cuffs and hem
The long sleeves finish in deep ribbed cuffs that push up easily on the forearm. We mirrored that ribbing at the bottom hem, which hangs straight rather than drawing tight against the hips.
Washing instructions
Turn the sweatshirt inside out before washing to protect the front embroidery. Machine wash in cold water on a gentle cycle, skip the chlorine bleach, and lay it flat or hang it to dry.
