We cut this two piece set in a lightweight fabric that drops straight without clinging. The top has a clean round neck and sleeveless armholes, while the cropped trousers fall wide through the leg. Deep side pockets and an adjustable cord finish the waist.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Round neckline and armholes
The sleeveless top is cut with a simple bound round neck that sits flat against the collarbone. We shaped the armholes to give room through the shoulder without gaping at the side.
Drawstring waistband
We set an elastic band into the waist of the trousers and ran an adjustable cord through the casing. It sits where you tie it and holds the gathered top block securely.
Cropped wide leg cut
The trousers fall straight and wide from the hip down to a cropped hem above the ankle. Two side pockets are sewn into the seams so they lie flat when empty.
Fabric and laundering
The woven material has a smooth surface and soft drape. Wash in cold water on a gentle cycle, tumble dry on low or hang to dry, and press with a low iron if needed.
