We shaped this cropped sweater vest with wide armholes and an open hollow-out knit that lets air move through. The yarn blends cotton and acrylic for body without heavy weight. A light ruffle finishes the bottom hem, worked directly into the lower crochet border.

Open crochet knit
We knit the body in a porous crochet pattern with open stitchwork throughout. The yarn blend holds its shape without creasing easily, remaining soft through ordinary wear and movement.
Neckline and armholes
The round crewneck is bound with a compact knit band to keep its shape. Wide sleeveless armholes sit clean on the shoulder seam so the piece layers flat over light base garments.
Ruffled lower hem
A gathered ruffle trims the lower cropped hem. The yarn weight gives the edge a soft flare that hangs free rather than hugging the waistband of trousers or skirts.
Washing and drying
