A wide leg cut with an ungathered hem lets this fleece-weight knit hang straight from the hip. We added a flat elastic waistband with an interior drawstring that works worn tall or folded over. The light grey heather shows the texture of the knit without catching lint easily. Two side pockets sit flat along the seams.

What went into it

The details we cut in

Foldover elastic waistband

The waistband holds a wide interior elastic and an inner tie cord. You can wear the band straight for full coverage at the waist, or fold it down over the hips to reveal the cord.

Wide straight hem

We skipped the ribbed ankle cuffs entirely. Instead, the leg falls wide and loose to the floor, cut with a simple turned hem that moves freely over sneakers or slides.

Side seam pockets

Two open pockets sit directly into the side seams, deep enough for keys or a phone. They stay flat against the leg when empty so the line from hip to hem stays clean.

Knit care and wash

Machine wash in cold water with similar pale tones to maintain the light grey colour. Tumble dry on low heat or hang flat to preserve the stretch and soft hand of the fleece.
