We knit this sweater with a contrasting faux-layered insert at the crewneck, cuffs, and bottom hem. The dropped shoulders give the body a relaxed hang without pulling across the upper back. It is a midweight knit with plenty of horizontal stretch.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Faux layered neckline
The rounded crewneck is built with a sewn-in contrasting inner band. Small V-slits sit at the center of the collar, sleeves, and lower hem to reveal the underlayer.
Dropped shoulder seam
We dropped the shoulder seams down the upper arm for an easy, loose cut through the chest. The long sleeves finish in neat split cuffs that sit cleanly over the wrists.
Striped knit yarn
Knit from a blend of viscose, polyester, and polyamide yarns. The fabric has a soft hand, dense horizontal stripes across the body, and enough weight to fall straight rather than cling.
Wash and care
Machine wash or hand wash in cold water to keep the knit from shrinking or stretching out of shape. Hang or line dry. Iron on low heat to release packing creases.
