We cut this two-piece set for warm weather and slow mornings. The top hangs loose from the shoulder with short sleeves, while the matching shorts pull on easily over the hips. Green vertical stripes run top to hem across both pieces.

What went into it

The details we cut in

Top and sleeve cut

The top features an open crew neckline and dropped shoulder seams for an easy hang through the chest. The short sleeves hit above the elbow, finished with a clean turned hem that holds its flat shape after laundering.

Waistband and shorts

We built the shorts with an encased elastic waistband that pulls on without extra hardware. The legs are cut wide through the thigh to permit full stride, ending in a straight hem that matches the top.

Pockets and stripe print

Deep side pockets sit along the outer seams of the shorts to hold keys or a phone. The green stripe print is dyed right into the lightweight woven yarn, keeping the horizontal lines aligned across the side construction.

Care and maintenance

Wash in cold water on a gentle cycle, preferably inside a mesh laundry bag, or hand wash separately. Skip the bleach. Line dry away from direct heat to preserve the waistband elasticity and the woven texture.
