We knit this winter pullover with an asymmetrical line through the neck, shifting the collar away from a standard roll. The grey yarn has a close, fine gauge with enough elasticity to hold its shape across the body. It layers neatly under heavier wool coats without bunching at the wrists or throat.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Asymmetrical collar
The neck is cut with an offset diagonal fold rather than an upright tube. It stands clear of the throat and drapes slightly to one side without slumping or losing tension.
Yarn and gauge
We chose a medium-weight knit yarn with natural stretch and a smooth face. It provides insulation against winter chill while keeping a flat, compact profile under coats.
Ribbed cuffs and hem
Wider ribbing frames the lower hem and long sleeves. These bands grip gently at the hip and wrist, keeping cold drafts out and preventing the fabric from riding up as you walk.
Washing and care
Machine wash cold inside a mesh laundry bag on a gentle cycle. Hang the piece to dry naturally, avoiding bleach, and use a cool iron if compressed during storage.
