We knit this lightweight burgundy sweater with a faux-layered neckline and neat contrast trim. Decorative buttons sit along the front placket, giving the visual depth of two layers in a single lightweight piece. The knit has medium stretch and drapes easily through the body.

The details we cut in
Contrast collar detail
A pale contrast collar is set into the neckline to create the look of an underlayer. Non-functional decorative buttons run below the collar to anchor the front placket without adding bulk.
Sleeve and cuff knit
Long sleeves finish in ribbed cuffs that stay in place at the wrist. We cut the shoulders for a regular drape that layers smoothly under a tailored coat or casual jacket.
Knit yarn and body
We blended viscose, polyester, and polyamide yarns for a medium-soft hand with moderate stretch. The knit is lightweight and breathable, suitable for mild autumn days or indoor wear.
Washing and care
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle with like colours to protect the yarn. Do not bleach, and skip the iron or keep heat very low if needed.
