We cut this skort with tiered lace ruffles over a matching stretch short. The high waistband sits smooth against the ribs, closed with an inset side zip to keep the front flat. In espresso brown, the dark lace overlays the inner layer cleanly from waist to hem.

The details we cut in
Tiered lace hem
Horizontal tiers of soft lace create the outer skirt, falling in gathered ruffles that flare slightly toward the hemline. The open weave lets the fabric move without adding bulk across the hips.
Built in short
Underneath the lace tiers, an inner short in stretchy knit provides full base coverage. It stays in place through walking and sitting, finished with smooth flatlock seams along the inner thigh.
Side zipper closure
A concealed zip runs up the side seam into the high waistband. This keeps the waist flat across the front and back panels while making the piece easy to pull on and take off.
Fabric and care
The lace outer and jersey lining are knit with nylon and spandex yarns for stretch. Machine wash cold in a mesh garment bag on a gentle cycle, then lay flat to dry.
