A wide-ribbed mock neck anchors this black pullover. We shaped the body loose and dropped the shoulders so the knit sits away from the torso, letting the dense cotton-blend yarn hang straight down to the hip. It pulls on easily over a base layer.

The details we cut in
Wide mock collar
The collar uses a heavy rib that stands on its own without rolling down or gripping the throat. It keeps its square profile through regular wear and holds the neck of the sweater upright under a coat.
Sleeve and shoulder line
We dropped the shoulder seam and joined it to a relaxed sleeve that tapers slightly toward the ribbed cuff. The extra room through the armhole lets you move without pulling at the side seams or bunching fabric.
Dense cotton knit
The cotton blend yarn is spun for a smooth hand and knit at a medium weight. It offers steady warmth without bulk, resist stretching out across the back, and carries enough weight to hold an open drape.
Care at home
Wash this sweater in cold water, preferably placed inside a mesh laundry bag on a gentle cycle, or wash by hand. Reshape the body while damp and lay it flat to dry to keep the collar and cuffs true.
