We cut this two-piece base layer set from knit fabric with a soft fleece backing and four-way stretch. The crew neck top uses raglan sleeves so the shoulder moves freely under outer coats. Paired with high-rise leggings that sit flat against the waist, the set sits close without binding beneath cold-weather trousers and sweaters.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Raglan sleeve construction
The top is patterned with diagonal raglan shoulder seams instead of a standard set-in armhole. This removes bulk from the top of the shoulder and allows full arm movement when you layer heavy jackets or sweaters over the piece.
Flatlock seam work
We sew both the top and the bottoms with flatlock stitching throughout. The flat seams lie smooth against the body and reduce bulk when worn directly beneath work trousers, denim, or ski gear during cold days outdoors.
High elastic waistband
The leggings feature a wide, high-rise elastic band that stays level across the waist. It sits flat under heavy layers without rolling down or bunching during active movement on winter trails or during long commutes.
Washing and fabric care
The knit blends synthetic fibres with a brushed interior that holds warmth close. Machine wash cold or wash by hand at a low temperature, skip the bleach, and air dry flat or tumble dry low. Do not iron.
