We cut this two-piece base layer set in clear red with a soft brushed fleece back. The long sleeve top features a classic crew neck and raglan shoulders, paired with matching leggings anchored by a wide elastic waistband. Flatlock seams run throughout to keep the profile flat under heavy winter coats.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Raglan sleeve cut
The long sleeves are cut with diagonal raglan seams extending from the collar to the underarm. This removes the traditional top shoulder seam, letting arms move freely when layered beneath sweaters, trail jackets, or heavy winter outerwear.
Fleece lined knit
We chose a four-way stretch knit backed with a lofted fleece lining. The brushed interior traps warmth next to the body without adding heavy bulk, while the smooth exterior slides easily against trousers, snow pants, and fleece hoodies.
High waistband construction
The matching bottoms are assembled with a wide, high-rise elastic waistband that stays flat against the waist. Smooth hems sit neatly at the ankles, making the leggings easy to pull into winter boots or layered beneath technical shells.
Flatlock seam care
Flatlock stitching joins every panel edge-to-edge to reduce bulk under dense layers. Machine wash cold or hand wash at a low temperature, tumble dry low or lay flat to dry, and avoid hot irons to protect the knit.
