We knit this pullover from a lightweight yarn with a smooth, soft hand. The body hangs loose through the torso, balanced by a close collar and ribbed borders at the wrists and waist. Dyed here in Violet Red, it layers flat under coats without added bulk.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Mock neck collar
We cut the neckline to sit close and upright against the base of the throat. It holds its shape without folding over or pulling tight, keeping cold air off the neck while laying smoothly under heavy outerwear.
Sleeve and cuff knit
The long sleeves drop into wide ribbed cuffs that grip the wrist lightly. You can push them up the forearm when working, and the knit recovers its shape without stretching out.
Loose body and hem
We shaped the body with a straight, relaxed cut that hangs clear of the waistline. The lower edge finishes in a deep ribbed band that rests easily over denim or wool trousers.
Yarn care
Machine wash cold in a mesh laundry bag, or hand wash gently to maintain the soft yarn surface. Lay the sweater flat on a dry towel away from direct heat to dry.
