We knit this orange cardigan with a heavy vertical rib and a structured cotton-acrylic hand. The body is cut to waist length with a mock neck that stands clear of the collarbone. A two-way front zipper lets you open the hem while keeping the top closed.

The details we cut in
Two-way front zipper
The full front zipper pulls from both the top and the bottom. You can zip it up to the collar, leave it open over a base layer, or ease the lower pull so the waist hem sits comfortably when you sit.
Mock neck collar
We knit the collar with a dense rib that stands upright without flopping. It closes close to the throat when fully zipped and rests flat against the shoulders when left open.
Waist length hem
The hem is cut short to meet the waistband of high-rise trousers and skirts. Broad ribbing runs across the cuffs and bottom border to hold the square shape of the knit.
Knit care
Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle to protect the rib structure. Lay the sweater flat on a dry towel to dry, then reshape the sleeves and hem by hand while damp.
