We knit this zip-up jacket from a sturdy cotton and acrylic blend with a pronounced rib. The waist-length hem sits clean over high-rise trousers, and the two-way front zipper lets you open the collar or ease the bottom while seated.

The details we cut in
Two-way front zip
A metal zipper pulls up from the hem and down from the mock neck. You can leave the bottom open over a dress or zip it fully closed for a clean stand collar.
Cropped ribbed hem
The body finishes right at the waistband. Wide ribbed banding at the cuffs and hem holds the knit close without pulling tight, keeping the shape tidy under heavier coats.
Structured cotton blend
We chose a midweight yarn with a defined rib texture. It holds its lines through the shoulder and chest rather than sagging, giving the piece the structure of a light jacket.
Washing and reshaping
Machine wash on a gentle cycle in cool water and lay the knit flat to dry. Reshape the collar and hem with your hands while damp to keep the ribs straight.
