We cut this lightweight shell from a coated polyester cloth that sheds drizzle and dries fast. It is unlined to keep the weight down, with an elastic waist to gather the middle and a zip closure that keeps the front flat. Royal blue gives the fabric a clear, saturated cast.

The details we cut in

Hood and neckline

The hood is cut with drawstrings so you can pull the edge close around your face in a breeze. The front zipper runs all the way up through the collar to close off the neck.

Elastic waist

An internal elastic band cinches the waist without extra bulk or hardware. It pulls the lightweight fabric in so the jacket sits closer to your midsection while leaving the chest and hips loose.

Front pockets

Two deep front pockets sit below the waistline to hold small carry items. The unlined shell keeps the pocket bags light against the body, and the coat folds down into its own packable pouch.

Fabric and care

This is a water-resistant coated weave meant for mist, light rain, and wind. To protect the surface coating, wipe the shell down with a damp cloth or rinse it with clean water instead of running it through a machine.
