We cut this unlined rain jacket from a lightweight, quick-drying woven polyester shell designed for light rain and wind. An elasticated waist gives the torso shape without extra bulk, while the front zip sits under a clean storm placket. The whole piece folds down into its own matching carrying pouch.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Drawstring hood
The hood is cut with an integrated drawcord so you can pull it close against wind and drizzle. It sits flat across the shoulders when open and holds its shape without a stiff brim.
Elastic waist and hem
We gathered the waistline with internal elastic to keep the jacket close to the body while leaving room through the shoulders and arms. The lower hem falls straight across the hips.
Front pockets and zip
Two deep front patch pockets hold daily items without pulling at the side seams. A water-resistant front zipper runs straight to the throat to seal out drafts on damp walks.
Fabric and care
Wipe the coated polyester shell clean with a damp cloth or rinse it with cool water to preserve the surface finish. Avoid machine washing and hang the jacket to dry naturally.
