We cut this hooded rain jacket from a dense, lightweight woven shell that sheds water and dries fast on the line. An interior drawstring at the waist pulls the middle close when the wind picks up. The black fabric stays matte, with a straight hem that clears the hip for easy walking.

Hood and neckline

The hood is cut with room for a knit cap and fastens with twin drawstrings at the neck. Pulling the cords narrows the opening around the face so sudden gusts do not catch the brim.

Waist and zipper

A full-length front zipper runs straight to the throat. Inside the coat, an adjustable waist cord lets you gather the midsection or leave the body wide and boxy over thicker layers.

Pockets and storage

Two deep patch pockets sit at the front hips. We sized them to hold a phone, keys, and cold hands, with top flaps that keep rain from running into the openings.

Care and maintenance

Rinse off road grit with cold water and hang the coat on a broad hanger to air dry. Machine wash on a gentle cycle without fabric softeners to keep the water-resistant coating intact.
