We cut this grey rain jacket from a lightweight, quick drying coated shell that sheds water and blocks wind. The front fastens with a coated zip running straight into the hood collar, while an internal cord lets you gather the waist. It folds down small when the drizzle stops.

The details we cut in
Hood and collar
The attached hood is cut deep enough to clear a cap brim. Cord adjusters on either side draw the opening tight against driving mist, while the high collar zips all the way up to cover the throat.
Waist drawstring
An internal waist channel holds an adjustable pull cord. Leaving it loose keeps the jacket straight and roomy over a thick fleece, or you can cinch it down to cut out drafts along the trail.
Front pockets
Two deep front patch pockets sit low on the hips. We sized them to hold a phone, trail map, or gloved hands, keeping your gear tucked away beneath broad protective pocket flaps.
Fabric and care
The coated shell is light, smooth, and quick to dry when hung up after a storm. Wash in cold water on a gentle cycle without fabric softener, then line dry to protect the water resistant finish.
