We cut this two-piece sleep set from lightweight woven cotton poplin instead of knit jersey. The shirt has a wide notched collar and a full button placket, matched to long straight-leg bottoms. It sits loose from the shoulders down so the fabric breathes freely overnight.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Cotton poplin weave
The woven poplin holds a structured line rather than clinging like a stretch knit. It is light, smooth to the touch, and keeps its shape after a night of sleep.
Lower patch pockets
Instead of a small chest pocket, we placed two open patch pockets low on the front of the shirt. They are deep enough for a phone or a small set of keys.
Notch collar and placket
The shirt front closes with matching buttons under an open notched collar. The edges are topstitched flat to keep the lapel crisp after laundering.
Wash and care
Wash on a gentle cycle in cold water and tumble dry on low. Cotton poplin softens over time and presses smooth under a cool iron if you prefer a sharper crease.
