We cut this open front cardigan from a lightweight textured knit with natural give. The front panels fall straight from the neck down to the hem without closures. We added ribbed cuffs with decorative gold-tone buttons and two patch pockets on the lower front.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Open front cut
The front panels hang straight without buttons or ties, giving a clean vertical line over shirts and tank tops. The knit has enough weight to keep its shape through the hemline without curling.
Ribbed cuff detail
We finished the long sleeves with a ribbed band at each wrist. Three decorative gold-tone buttons sit along the outside edge of each cuff to break up the knit texture.
Lower patch pockets
Two open pockets sit flat on the lower front panels. We knit them directly into the body to hold small daily items without pulling the lower hem down.
Yarn and care
The white knit yarn feels soft against the arms with steady stretch across the shoulders. Machine wash in cold water with similar colours and lay flat to dry so the knit retains its structure.
