We cut this open-front cardigan from a lightweight textured knit with natural give. The coffee-over-white pattern runs across the body down to a straight hem. Long sleeves finish in ribbed cuffs set with decorative gold-tone buttons, alongside two front patch pockets deep enough for daily use.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Open neckline and hem
The front hangs open without fastenings, falling straight from the shoulder line down to the low hip hem. It layers easily over standard shirts and lightweight knit tops.
Cuff and button detail
Each long sleeve ends in an extended ribbed cuff. We set decorative gold-tone metal buttons along the wrist edge to weight the sleeve and hold the cuff in place.
Front patch pockets
Two open patch pockets sit squarely at the front hips. We knit them in the same textured gauge as the main body so they sit flat without pulling the side seams.
Knit care
Machine wash cold with like colours on a gentle cycle. Lay the piece flat to dry rather than hanging it, which helps the open knit keep its shape.
