We cut this long cardigan with a straight open front and an unbelted hang that falls past the hips. The yarn knits light grey over a white base to give the ribbed texture depth. It works as an easy layer over a plain tank or a collared shirt.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Open front line
The front panels hang straight without buttons, snaps, or ties. We finished the leading edge with a flat knit border that keeps the sweater lying flat against the chest instead of curling inward.
Ribbed cuffs and buttons
Each long sleeve ends in an extended rib-knit cuff trimmed with decorative gold-tone metal buttons. The ribbing holds the wrist closely, keeping the sleeve in place when pushed up the forearm.
Two front pockets
We placed two square patch pockets low on the front panels. They are knit directly into the body stitch so they lay flat against the thighs while holding small everyday items.
Textured yarn and care
The knit blends light grey and white yarns into a fine, springy rib with moderate stretch. Machine wash in cold water with similar light colours, avoid bleach, and lay it flat to dry to keep the shape.
