We knit this open front cardigan from a textured yarn with light crosswise give. The front falls clean without fastenings, balanced by long sleeves that finish in ribbed cuffs tipped with small gold-tone buttons. Two patch pockets sit flat at the hips for daily use.

The details we cut in
Open front cut
The placket runs straight from the neck to the straight lower hem without buttons or hooks. It hangs loose over undershirts and dresses, staying open as you walk.
Ribbed cuff detail
Each long sleeve ends in an extended ribbed cuff set with small gold-tone metal buttons. The ribbed stitch grips the wrist gently to keep the sleeve in place.
Front patch pockets
Two low patch pockets are knit directly onto the body panels. They are wide enough to hold a phone or keep hands rested without sagging out of shape.
Wash and care
Machine wash cold with like colors on a gentle cycle to protect the knit texture and metal cuff buttons. Lay flat to dry rather than hanging to preserve the shoulder seam.
