A short trench cut to sit at the waistband of your trousers. We tailored the shell from a structured, lightweight cloth that holds its shape, then faced the interior with a contrast plaid lining. The lapel collar lies flat against the chest, fastened down the front with sturdy tonal buttons.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Collar and button front
The notched lapel collar opens cleanly across the neck or buttons high against the throat. We spaced the front buttons to keep the placket flat when closed, leaving room across the chest for light knit layers beneath.
Cropped hemline
We ended the body right at the hip line. This shorter length keeps the hem clear of your stride, letting the jacket sit neatly over high-rise waistbands, pleated trousers, or full skirts without bunching at the seat.
Contrast plaid lining
Inside, we lined the body and sleeves with a smooth plaid fabric. It slips over knitwear without dragging at the arms and adds a patterned detail at the cuffs and lapels when you roll or unbutton them.
Side welt pockets
Two functional welt pockets are set along the front seams. We reinforced the entry stitching so you can rest your hands inside or carry a small cardholder and keys without stretching out the front panels.
