We cut this short trench from a crisp, structured fabric that holds its line through the body and across the shoulders. The cropped hem meets the waistband cleanly, while a broad lapel collar and a row of front buttons give you the choice to wear it closed or loose. Inside, we lined the jacket with a contrast plaid cloth.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Lapel collar and closure
We cut the collar wide across the throat so it rests flat over sweaters and blouses. A row of dark buttons runs down the front placket, letting you fasten the coat against a breeze or leave the front panels open.
Cropped straight hem
The hem sits high at the waistline, giving a shorter line than a traditional full-length coat. We finished the lower edge with a clean turned hem that holds its shape over high-rise trousers, skirts, or denim.
Contrast plaid lining
The body is backed in a woven plaid lining that shows along the collar and inside edges when you move with the coat unfastened. It adds a smooth interior layer that slides easily over knitwear without catching.
Hand pockets and care
We set two functional welt pockets into the front panels to hold small carry items. Machine wash this jacket on a gentle cold cycle and hang it on a shaped hanger to dry, pressing with a cool iron if needed.
