We cut these cropped trousers with a wide barrel leg and a deep drop at the hip. The woven blend gives the brown fabric a soft fall rather than a stiff flare. An adjustable cord runs through the elastic waistband to anchor the rise.

What went into it

The details we cut in

Waistband and cord

An elastic channel runs the full circumference of the waist. We threaded an exposed drawstring through the center front so the waist can be drawn in and tied flat against the gathers.

Leg and hem split

The legs balloon through the calf before tapering inward toward the ankle. Overlapping panels create a split at the outer lower leg that opens slightly when you step.

Side seam pockets

Deep pockets sit flush inside the side seams along the hips. They rest flat against the relaxed cut of the cloth without pulling the front waistband down.

Wash and care

Machine wash cold on a gentle cycle or wash by hand. Hang the trousers on a line to dry and press with a steam iron to reset the weave.
