We cut this two-piece set for warm days around the house and casual mornings out. The top has clean cap sleeves and a single patch chest pocket, paired with matching pull-on shorts. We chose an earthy brown knit that drapes loosely without clinging.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Cap sleeves and neckline
The round neckline is bound flat so it sits smooth against the collarbone. We shaped the cap sleeves to fall naturally over the shoulder point, giving light coverage through the upper arm while keeping the underarm open.
Top pocket and hem
A neat patch pocket sits on the left chest for small items. The body is cut loose through the waist and finishes with a straight, double-stitched hem that falls easily over the waistband of the shorts.
Elastic waist and drawstring
The shorts are built on a wide elastic waistband threaded with a flat matching drawstring cord. You can adjust the tension as needed, keeping the fit secure without pinching when you sit down.
Side pockets and care
Deep slant pockets sit along the side seams of the shorts to hold keys and cards. The fabric resists creasing and washes easily on a standard machine cycle in cold water.
