We cut this piece from a soft, brushed flannel weave with a classic plaid pattern in coffee. The shape is boxy and loose through the torso, with a drop shoulder that leaves room underneath for a base layer or light knit. Wear it fastened as a shirt or left unbuttoned over a cami.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Pointed collar and front placket
The shirt collar sits flat at the neck, leading down to a full row of buttons. You can fasten it to the throat or leave it open as a light outer layer.
Sleeve and shoulder cut
We dropped the shoulder seam to soften the frame and give the long sleeves extra room across the upper arm. The cuffs button neatly at the wrist.
Straight chest pockets
Two patch pockets sit square across the front, lined up with the horizontal lines of the plaid weave for clean symmetry across the chest.
Fabric and laundering
The flannel is brushed on both sides for a soft hand. Machine wash cold, then hang dry or tumble on low heat. Iron on low to press out packing folds.
