We cut this piece short at the waist in a brushed polyester flannel. The body has a loose, square hang that works open over a tank or buttoned to the neck as a heavy shirt. A wide lapel frames the front, balanced by straight chest pockets and a clean wine and white grid.

The details we cut in
Lapel collar and buttons
The front closes with a row of solid buttons leading to a flat fold-over collar. You can fasten it to the throat on cold mornings or leave the neckline open over base layers.
Cropped boxy hem
We set the bottom hem higher than a standard overshirt to reduce bulk around the hip. The squared cut allows room through the torso without pulling across the back.
Brushed plaid flannel
The polyester weave is brushed on both faces for a soft handle that holds structure. Wine and white yarns form a clear check that aligns across the placket and chest pockets.
Cold wash and pressing
