We cut this warm-weather set from a thin, unlined cotton-rich cloth that holds its shape without stretch. The top finishes with a clean crew neckline and a concealed side zipper for easy dressing. Down below, the matching shorts sit on an adjustable drawstring waistband and carry deep slash pockets at the hips.

The details we cut in

Crew neck tank

The sleeveless top is cut straight through the body with a banded crew neck and armholes that sit flat. A concealed side zipper allows you to slip the non-stretch fabric on without pulling at the seams.

Drawstring waistband

The shorts are built with a wide waistband anchored by an adjustable fabric drawcord. This keeps the waist secure while leaving plenty of room through the seat and wide-cut leg openings.

Side slash pockets

Two slash pockets sit along the side seams of the shorts. We inset them deep enough to hold keys or a small cardholder without pulling the checkered pattern out of square.

Cloth and laundering

Woven from light, thin cotton-dominant yarns in a green and white check. Machine wash cold in a laundry bag alongside like colours, skip the bleach, and hang the set on a line to dry.
