We cut this two-piece set from a thin, unbrushed woven cotton with yarn-dyed green and white stripes. The sleeveless top sits high at the crew neckline and fastens with a hidden side zipper so the profile stays flat. Down below, the matching shorts pull on with an adjustable drawstring waistband and two inset slash pockets.

What went into it

The details we cut in

Crew neck tank

We shaped the sleeveless top with a round crew neckline and clean armholes that rest close against the shoulder. A side zipper stays tucked into the seam so the woven cotton pulls on without tugging at the neckline.

Drawstring waistband

The matching shorts sit on an elasticated waistband threaded with a self-fabric drawcord. You can tie it to set the rise where you prefer, while the thin woven cloth gathers evenly around the waist without bunching.

Slash side pockets

We set two deep slash pockets into the side seams of the shorts. They sit flat against the hip when empty and hold small daily carry items without pulling the woven stripe out of alignment.

Cotton care

The thin cotton cloth has no synthetic stretch and breathes freely on warm days. Machine wash cold with like colors inside a laundry bag, skip the bleach, and hang the set on a line to dry.
