We cut this two piece lounge set from a thin, woven cotton cloth patterned in red and white stripes. The top has a clean crewneck and a hidden side zipper so it pulls on without pulling the weave. The shorts sit on an adjustable drawstring waistband.

What went into it

The details we cut in

Crewneck and side zip

The tank top is cut sleeveless with a round crew neckline that sits flat against the collarbone. A hidden zipper down the side seam allows the top to slip on easily over the head without stretching the woven fabric.

Drawstring waist

We gathered the matching shorts onto a flexible waistband threaded with an adjustable cord. You can cinch the waist tight or let it hang loose, while the legs fall straight to an easy hem.

Deep slash pockets

Two slash pockets sit flat against the side seams of the shorts. They are cut deep enough to hold a set of keys or a phone without pulling the waistband down or distorting the drape of the cotton.

Woven cotton care

This is a thin, non-stretch cotton weave that softens as it is washed. Run it through the machine on a cold cycle inside a mesh laundry bag with like colours, skip the bleach, and hang it on a line to dry.
