We cut this two-piece lounge set from a light, non-stretch woven cotton patterned with fine blue stripes. The sleeveless top features a clean crew neckline and a concealed side zipper for easy dressing. The details we cut in

Top construction

A clean crew neckline sits flat against the collarbone. We set an invisible zipper into the side seam so the sleeveless woven bodice slips on easily without needing stretch in the cotton yarn.

Drawstring waistband

The matching shorts sit on a wide waistband threaded with an adjustable self-fabric cord. The legs are cut loose through the thigh for easy movement around the house or on the road.

Side slash pockets

Two deep slash pockets sit angled at the front hips of the shorts. We anchored the pocket bags into the side seams to keep the vertical stripe lines aligned across the hip.

Washing routine

Wash in cold water on a gentle cycle, preferably inside a mesh laundry bag with like colours. Hang the set to air dry rather than using heat to preserve the woven cotton texture.
