We cut this short trench to hit right at the hip line. The outer shell uses a smooth, structured cloth that holds its shape over thin knitwear or dresses. Inside, we lined the body and sleeves with a classic woven plaid that adds weight without bulk.

The details we cut in
Button front and collar
A clean spread collar frames the neck, finished in a contrast tone. Flat buttons run down the center placket so the coat fastens securely against a brisk draft.
Plaid lining
We fully lined the interior with a smooth plaid weave. It slides easily over long sleeve tops and adds an extra layer of wind resistance through the torso.
Hip length hem
The hem finishes across the hip for easy movement on the move. We shaped the side seams slightly to give the boxy trench silhouette a steady, balanced hang.
Care and wash
Wash on a cold gentle cycle and hang on a sturdy hanger to dry. A brief pass with a warm iron settles the placket and collar seams after laundering.
