We cut these pull-on lounge bottoms wide through the leg so the cloth falls straight from the hip down to the hem. The red and white plaid is woven into a light, breathable fabric that stays soft after laundering. An encased elastic band sits flat at the waist with an adjustable front cord.

What went into it

The details we cut in

Waistband and cord

The waistband uses an encased elastic strip that gathers the fabric evenly across the hips. We added a dyed-to-match flat drawstring through the front so you can adjust the tension as needed.

Wide leg cut

We gave the legs a full, straight cut that drops directly down without tapering at the ankles. The loose perimeter lets air move through the light weave while you rest or walk around the house.

Side seam pockets

Two inset pockets are sewn directly into the side seams. They sit flat against the hip when empty and stay deep enough to hold a phone or a set of keys without dragging the waistband down.

Wash and care

Machine wash cold with like colours on a gentle cycle to keep the red and white check crisp. Line dry or tumble dry on low heat, and press with a warm iron if needed.
