A fitted mini skirt built over an inner short. We set the waistband lower on the hips and added stretch to the knit so the fabric stays close through the seat. A short side split lets the hem move when you walk.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Built-in short layer
Underneath the red outer panel, we stitched a matching pair of fitted knit shorts. They stay hidden beneath the outer hem while you walk or sit, keeping the lines of a mini skirt without open gaps.
Low waistband placement
We cut the waistband to rest across the hips rather than high on the natural waist. It sits flat with a clean edge that stays in place without rolling down or needing side zips.
Side slit hem
A short slit opens the outer skirt along the side seam. It breaks the straight bottom hem and gives your stride a little extra room while showing just a hint of the inner lining layer.
Stretch knit care
The red fabric is a lightweight knit with crosswise give that recovers after wear. Wash it on a cold cycle with similar shades and lay it flat to dry to keep the seams square.
