We cut this long dress from a soft ribbed knit that holds close through the torso and hips before opening into a flared fishtail hem. The high crew neckline and short set-in sleeves keep the upper body simple. Dyed here in a muted grey blue, it falls cleanly to the lower calf.

The details we cut in

Crew neckline

The neck is bound with a flat self-fabric band that sits close against the base of the throat. It keeps its shape without rolling through repeat wear.

Ribbed knit texture

We chose a medium-weight ribbed knit with generous recovery across the width. The vertical ribs give the surface a fine corded texture and allow the dress to trace the body.

Fishtail hem

The skirt panels release below the knee, widening gradually into a gentle flare. This adds swing around the lower legs and leaves plenty of room for walking.

Washing and care

Machine wash cold with like colours on a gentle cycle. Lay flat on a rack or towel to dry so the weight of the knit does not pull the hem longer.
