We knit this winter cap with a textured ribbed outer shell and line the interior with a soft, lofted fleece layer. The folding cuff gives you double thickness over the ears and forehead. It pulls on easily with enough give to hold its shape through cold winds.

What went into it
The details we cut in
Double layer build
A dense ribbed yarn on the outside pairs with a brushed fleece lining on the interior. The combination traps air between the two layers without making the crown feel stiff or heavy.
Folded turn cuff
The lower edge rolls up into a deep, adjustable cuff. This places four layers of knit and fleece over the ears while letting you adjust how deep the cap sits on the brow.
Ribbed knit yarn
We chose a blended knit with steady stretch and recovery. The vertical rib tracks smoothly around the crown, gathering at the top seam so the cap retains a neat, rounded profile.
Wash and care
Wash on a gentle cycle with cold water to protect the loft of the inner fleece. Lay the cap flat to dry or run on low heat so the ribbing keeps its original tension.
